Robert J. Hutter is a Partner. As a charter member of Revolution Ventures, Robert has led investments and taken active management roles in the firm's portfolio companies since the partnership began in late 1999.  Currently Robert is CEO of NR2B Research, a company backed by Revolution.  Previous to NR2B, Robert has held senior roles at CombineNet, Solarflare, Inovys, and other Revolution companies. Prior to Revolution, Robert was an Associate at Fundamental Capital in Palo Alto where he was instrumental in the startup phases of a number of companies including Silicon Spice, which was acquired by Broadcom.  He is currently on the Board of Directors of SmartDrive Systems, Quantcast, In Game Ad Limited, and NR2B.

Robert has been involved in education related initiatives since his time at Harvard, where he researched concept learning in mathematics.  Robert is co-founder of Edusoft, an innovative assessment platform provider that was acquired by Houghton-Mifflin in 2003.  He is a founding member of a New Markets Tax Credits partnership administered by the U.S. Treasury Department that underwrites major campus real estate transactions for California Statewide Charter school recipients operating in the K-12 space.  He is also the holder of several patents and patents in process in and around adaptive learning.
